Task Management for ADHD Brains

Why We Built Avery

There was this moment when I realized my brain works differently—and it wasn’t a nice moment.

I’ve been building for 25 years, and somewhere along the way things became hard. The ability to turn "I should do this" into actually doing it became this massive struggle. The gap between intention and action turned into a hole where things just slipped through.

ADD isn’t forgetting things. It’s missing the thing that matters, right when it matters most. It’s the look on someone’s face when you’ve let them down, again. It’s knowing you care more than anyone else in the room, but somehow that doesn’t translate into remembering to show up.

I kept circling back to this problem in my search for the perfect app, made for me. I built other things, worked on other projects, but solving my memory was what I kept coming back to.

How Avery Works

It finally clicked that AI could be the thing I’d been needing. Not a productivity app that sits there until you open it, but something (someone?) that actually reaches out at the perfect time. Someone who remembers context, understands that “plant a vegetable garden” isn’t a task due Saturday at 10 AM but a sequence of steps that need to happen over time.

So I built Avery. She lives on WhatsApp because that’s where I am. She remembers what you tell her and uses it to make better decisions about when to reach out and what to say.

Key Features

  • Smart task parsing – Ramble at her, she figures out the tasks and organizes them
  • Proactive reminders – She texts you first, at the right time, with follow-ups
  • Calendar integration – Syncs with Google Calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts
  • Memory & goals – Remembers your preferences and helps track long-term objectives
  • Project planning – Breaks complex goals into actionable task sequences
  • Recurring tasks – Handles daily, weekly, or custom repeating reminders
